Samples are analysed using two complementary technologies: PCR (polymerase chain reaction): detects and quantifies microbial DNA directly from the sample, providing precise identification of oral organisms MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry: supports rapid and accurate identification of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance markers Results are available within 14 business days of the laboratory receiving the sample.
