THIS WATCH IS NOT STORED IN OUR SHOWROOM - VIEWING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Few references carry the weight that 5711 does. Designed by Gerald Genta in 1976 alongside the Royal Oak, the Nautilus took the same premise, a luxury sports watch in steel, with an integrated bracelet, and gave it a porthole-inspired case shape that has become as instantly recognisable as any watch ever made. Reference 5711, the modern continuation introduced in 2006, refined the original without losing any of its character, and went on to become the most sought-after steel sports watch of its generation before its discontinuation. The dial is the Nautilus signature: horizontal embossed lines radiating across the surface, catching light differently with every angle of the wrist, paired with elongated baton indices and matching hands. The date window at 3 o'clock sits within the dial's horizontal grain without disrupting it. The white "panda-like" lacquered dial — often referred to by collectors as the "porcelain" or "piano white" Nautilus — represents one of the most coveted dial variants of the 5711 line. The bright white surface, with its horizontal embroidered grain and contrasting black indices and text, gives the watch a crispness and graphic punch that the more common blue and black dials don't quite achieve. Discontinued well before the reference itself, this colourway has only grown more sought-after with time. This example comes as a full set and presents in top condition, the steel case retaining its crisp lines and the bracelet its tight, unstretched links.
