This one is 5mm — noticeably thicker and heavier, and more resistant to splitting under everyday handling, for a small price premium. The 3mm bamboo version remains the better-priced option. Is there an oak version? Yes — the oak reversible door hanger is the same 89×137mm size in 4mm oak veneered MDF, with a warmer traditional grain. It is the most budget-friendly of the three. Why does thickness matter for bamboo? Bamboo is strong along its fibres but can split if pressure is applied across the grain.
