Ecothrive Flourish
Ecothrive Flourish is a concentrated seaweed biostimulant designed to support plant growth, nutrient uptake and tolerance to environmental stress throughout the growing cycle. Made from highly refined Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed extract, Flourish provides naturally occurring bioactive compounds rather than acting as a conventional fertiliser. It can be used alongside your normal nutrient programme in soil, coco and hydroponic systems. The refined and filtered formulation is designed to remain soluble and stable in nutrient reservoirs, making Flourish suitable for growers who want the benefits of a seaweed extract without introducing a thick or sediment-heavy organic additive into their irrigation system. Key features Concentrated seaweed extract: made from Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed using a low-temperature, high-pressure extraction process. Natural biostimulant: provides bioactive seaweed compounds rather than functioning as a conventional base nutrient. Suitable for soil, coco and hydro: the refined formulation can be incorporated into a wide range of growing systems. Reservoir stable: highly filtered and fully soluble for use in nutrient tanks and automatic irrigation systems. Root or foliar application: can be added to irrigation water or applied as a foliar spray during appropriate growth stages. Suitable throughout the growing cycle: useful during propagation, transplanting, vegetative growth and flowering or fruiting. Low application rate: use at just 0.25 to 0.5ml per litre when applied through the root zone. What is Ecothrive Flourish? Flourish is an extract of Ascophyllum nodosum, a species of brown seaweed widely used in horticultural biostimulants. Seaweed extracts are sometimes treated as fertilisers, but that is not really the purpose of Flourish. Its typical analysis contains no nitrogen, no phosphorus and only 0.5% potassium. Instead, the main reason for using Flourish is its naturally occurring seaweed-derived bioactive compounds, including alginic acid, laminarin, fucoidan, mannitol, betaines and naturally occurring plant signalling compounds. Typical analysis Nitrogen: 0% Phosphorus: 0% Potassium: 0.5% Seaweed solids: 3 to 4% w/v Organic matter: 2.5% Typical pH: 4.2 This low NPK analysis is why Flourish should be viewed as a biostimulant and supplement rather than a replacement for your normal base nutrient. Why use a seaweed biostimulant? The value of a concentrated seaweed extract comes primarily from its natural bioactive compounds rather than from supplying large quantities of mineral nutrition. Ecothrive developed Flourish to support plant vigour, nutrient uptake and resilience during periods when plants are under greater environmental or developmental demand. This makes it particularly useful around propagation, transplanting and periods of rapid vegetative, flowering or fruit development. How to use Ecothrive Flourish as a root feed Ecothrive recommends applying Flourish at 0.25 to 0.5ml per litre of water. It can be used with every watering and can either be added on its own or alongside compatible nutrients and additives as part of your normal feeding programme. Flourish can be used throughout propagation, vegetative growth and the flowering or fruiting stage. Ecothrive recommends stopping root applications approximately one to two weeks before harvest. Using Flourish during propagation Flourish can be used from the early stages of plant development, including seed soaking, propagation cube soaking and watering young plants. The lower application rate is a sensible starting point when working with young plants. Flourish can then continue to be used when transplanting into a larger container and during subsequent growth. How to use Ecothrive Flourish as a foliar spray For foliar application, Ecothrive recommends: 10ml of Flourish per litre of water every 10 to 14 days. Apply an even foliar spray to the plant surface during suitable growth stages. Flourish can be used as a foliar treatment during propagation and vegetative growth. For flowering plants, stop spraying once flowers have started to form. Fruiting crops can be treated later into their growing cycle where foliar application remains appropriate. Using Flourish in hydroponic systems One of the main differences between Flourish and many traditional organic seaweed products is the degree of filtration. Ecothrive uses a processing and filtration method designed to produce a clean, fully soluble extract that remains stable in hydroponic nutrient reservoirs for extended periods. This makes Flourish suitable for systems where thick organic extracts or suspended solids would be undesirable, including coco irrigation systems and hydroponic nutrient reservoirs. Always maintain normal reservoir hygiene and follow the requirements of your particular irrigation system. Using Flourish in soil and living soil Flourish can also be used in conventional potting soil and biologically active living soil systems. In these systems it works as a supplementary seaweed biostimulant rather than replacing products such as Ecothrive Soil Food Grow, Soil Food Bloom or the existing nutrition contained within the growing medium. Flourish is not a base nutrient This distinction is important. Flourish has an NPK analysis of approximately 0-0-0.5, so it cannot provide the complete mineral nutrition required for plant growth on its own. Continue using the appropriate base nutrient or living soil feeding programme for your growing system and use Flourish as a supplementary biostimulant. Flourish vs Ecothrive Charge Both products support the root-zone environment, but they work in very different ways. Ecothrive Flourish: a liquid seaweed biostimulant that can be added to irrigation water or used as a foliar spray. Ecothrive Charge: a mealworm-frass based solid amendment mixed into the growing medium or used as a top dress. They are therefore complementary rather than direct alternatives. Available sizes 250ml: practical for smaller gardens or growers trying Flourish for the first time. 1 litre: suitable for regular use across larger numbers of plants. 5 litres: the more economical option for larger growing areas and regular irrigation programmes. The NPK Gardening Solutions take Flourish is useful because it gives growers the benefits of a seaweed extract without asking them to put a thick organic liquid into a hydroponic reservoir. We would not sell it as another bottle that somehow replaces proper nutrition. The NPK numbers make that clear. Its role is as a low-dose biostimulant used alongside a well-managed feeding programme. It is particularly worth considering if you want one additive that can follow a plant from propagation through transplanting and established growth while remaining compatible with soil, coco and hydroponic systems. Choose Ecothrive Flourish if you want a clean, concentrated seaweed biostimulant that can be used through the root zone or as a foliar spray without replacing your existing base nutrient programme.
