Coquette One | RTX 5050 8GB + Ryzen 5 5600 + 16GB | Ready-to-Go Gaming PC | PC36
๐ค Coquette One Nothing to look at, and that is entirely the idea Most of what makes a gaming PC look like a gaming PC costs real money and adds nothing to the frame rate. Coquette One is what's left when you take all of it out: a plain black case with a solid front, a tempered glass side, and not a single addressable LED anywhere in it. It sits on a desk without asking for attention, and at the desktop it is close to silent doing it. What that buys is frames. A Ryzen 5 5600 and an RTX 5050 make a genuinely capable 1080p machine at the price a lot of builders are still asking for something slower. The 5600 is one of the great value processors of the last few years, and the card is current-generation, so DLSS 4 is doing real work here rather than sitting on the box as a feature. The rest of the build follows the same rule. 16GB of dual channel DDR4 enabled properly in the BIOS rather than left at its default speed, three fans fitted and curved by hand, and a full torture test on CPU, RAM and GPU before it goes anywhere near a courier. ๐งฌ Built to last, designed to evolve Built on AMD's AM4 platform. AM4 is mature rather than new, and we will be straight about what that means: there are no future processor generations coming to this socket. What there is, is a very well understood platform with cheap, plentiful parts and a clear step up available inside it. The board has four DDR4 slots with two free and two M.2 slots with one free, so memory and storage both grow without replacing anything, and the Ryzen 7 5700X upgrade in the options below is a real jump in multi-core work whenever you want it. This is a machine to keep and feed rather than one to rebuild around. ๐ Specifications ๐ง CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Click or tap for deeper spec info 6 cores, 12 threads of Zen 3, boosting to 4.4GHz, with 32MB of L3 cache. 65W TDP, though like every modern Ryzen it boosts past that in practice and will pull around 88W with every core loaded The value benchmark that everything else in this class gets measured against. Six fast Zen 3 cores are still comfortably enough for every current game, and at 1080p with a card in this class the graphics card is the limit long before the processor is That peak is still a small heat load, and the tower cooler fitted is rated far beyond it, so it absorbs the boost rather than merely coping with it. No thermal drama, and no need to spend more on cooling to get the performance you paid for Socket AM4, and the Ryzen 7 5700X upgrade below doubles the core count for people who also edit, stream or compile โ๏ธ CPU cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE Black, single tower air cooler Click or tap for deeper spec info 4 ร 6mm direct-touch nickel-plated copper heatpipes through 51 aluminium fins, with a TL-C12C 120mm PWM fan turning up to 1550rpm. Plain black with no lighting, which is the version that belongs in a machine with nothing else glowing in it Rated to 225W, against a processor that peaks around 88W. That gap is the whole point. The fan works at the slow end of its range and stays there, so the loudest thing in this machine at idle is nothing at all. 66.17 CFM and 25.6 dBA at its maximum, which it has no reason to reach here Mounted with Thermalright TF4 paste applied by hand rather than a pre-applied pad, and the fan curve set before it ships 148mm tall, well inside the 165mm the case allows, and it does not overhang the memory slots, so the two free DIMM slots stay easy to get at ๐ฒ Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi (micro-ATX) Click or tap for deeper spec info PCIe 4.0 x16 for the graphics card, plus two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots Four DDR4 slots supporting up to 128GB, running dual channel at 3200 as standard and rated well beyond that with A-XMP. Two slots are used here, so 32GB later means adding a pair rather than throwing anything away Two M.2 slots: one PCIe 4.0 from the processor and one PCIe 3.0 from the chipset. Only the Gen4 slot is used, so there is a second drive's worth of room free Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, aerial supplied. This is Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2, not Wi-Fi 6, and we would rather tell you that here than have you find out later. In practice it is plenty for gaming and streaming video, but it is a step behind the boards in our dearer builds Gigabit Ethernet on a Realtek controller, which we would still recommend over wireless for competitive play Rear I/O gives you four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports at 5Gbps and two USB 2.0, plus HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA. Realtek 7.1 channel audio, four SATA ports PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page ๐ Memory / RAM: 16GB (2ร8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Click or tap for deeper spec info A matched pair running dual channel at DDR4-3200 CL16, enabled in the BIOS before it ships rather than left at the default 2133 Dual channel is not a detail, it is the difference. A single 16GB stick in this machine would cost you real frames. Two 8GB sticks is the right way to buy 16GB and it is what we fit DDR4-3200 CL16 is the sweet spot for Zen 3. Faster kits exist and the returns fall away quickly above this 16GB is enough for every current game at 1080p. Two slots are free, so going to 32GB later is a matter of adding a pair Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request ๐พ Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (QLC) Click or tap for deeper spec info Rated at 5,000MB/s or better, fitted in the board's Gen4 slot. Games load in seconds and Windows feels instant QLC rather than TLC, and here is what that means. For loading games, booting Windows and everything most people do, it is indistinguishable. Where QLC gives ground is very long sustained writes, such as moving hundreds of gigabytes in one go, where it will slow down once its fast cache is full. On a machine at this price we would rather put the money in the graphics card We fit 1TB as standard across the whole range rather than varying it by price, so comparing our machines to each other is straightforward One M.2 slot free, plus two 3.5 inch and two 2.5 inch mounts in the case Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request ๐ฎ Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8GB Click or tap for deeper spec info Blackwell, 8GB of GDDR6. A 1080p card, and a current-generation one rather than last generation's leftovers DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is the reason to want a current card at this level. It is doing more of the heavy lifting here than it does further up the range, and in supported titles it is the difference between playable and comfortable NVENC for recording and streaming, with AV1 supported for encode and decode. If you stream, this matters more than the raw frame rate does Ray tracing is available and we will be honest that this is not the tier where you leave it on in demanding titles. In lighter games it is fine Powered by a standard 8-pin connector, so no adapter and no 12V-2x6 concerns The chipset and VRAM are guaranteed: it will always be an RTX 5050 with 8GB. The AIB brand varies with availability, and we only use established manufacturers. See our Trusted brands page for more info ๐งฐ Case: Thermaltake S100 TG, Black Click or tap for deeper spec info 411 ร 220 ร 441mm, a micro-ATX mini tower in SPCC steel with a 4mm tempered glass side panel on a magnetic hinge Graphics cards up to 330mm, CPU coolers up to 165mm, power supplies up to 160mm. Comfortable for everything in this build The front panel is solid steel, and air comes in through large vents down its sides rather than through a mesh face. We would rather say that plainly than let you discover it. A mesh front does move more air. What this arrangement gives up in raw intake it makes up in a cleaner look and much less dust, and with a 65W processor and a 130W class card it has cooling to spare. We have tested it Fan mounts: two at the front, two in the top, one at the rear. One 120mm rear exhaust is included in the box Two 3.5 inch drive bays and two 2.5 inch mounts Front I/O is one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports with a headphone and microphone jack. There is no front USB-C on this chassis, which is part of how the price works Magnetic dust filter on the top vent and a mesh filter under the power supply ๐ฌ๏ธ Case cooling: 2 ร 120mm front intake, 1 ร 120mm rear exhaust included with the case Click or tap for deeper spec info Two plain black 120mm fans that we fit ourselves at the front, drawing air in through the side vents, and the case's own 120mm exhaust at the rear Three fans in a 40 litre case around a 65W processor is a generous amount of air, and it is why the solid front is not the problem it might sound like. Front to back is the shortest, most direct path through a case, and this build uses all of it Four-pin PWM, no lighting, matched to the rest of the machine Fan curves are set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed. Honest expectation setting: this is one of the quieter machines we build, because there is not much heat in it to move. It is close to silent at the desktop and gently audible in a demanding game โก Power supply: Deepcool PF500 500W Click or tap for deeper spec info 500W, against a build that draws around 250W under a heavy gaming load. Roughly double the headroom the machine actually asks for 80 PLUS rated at the standard tier, non-modular. Non-modular means every cable is permanently attached, so cable management is a matter of routing and tying rather than leaving things out. We do that work properly, and you will see the result through the glass Feeds the graphics card with a standard PCIe 8-pin. No adapters If you would rather have more headroom, the 850W Gold upgrade is in the options below. It is not needed for this build as it stands, and it is worth taking only if you plan to fit a much bigger card later ๐ Cabling: Black cabling, routed and tied Click or tap for deeper spec info Non-modular, so the unused cables are routed and stowed behind the tray rather than left loose. Nothing crosses the intake path Everything visible through the glass is tied down and squared off. It takes longer than it sounds and it is the difference between a tidy machine and a bag of spaghetti ๐ถ WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2 and Gigabit Ethernet, included Click or tap for deeper spec info Built into the MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box This is Wi-Fi 5, not Wi-Fi 6 or 6E. It is a step behind our dearer builds and we would rather be clear about it. For gaming, video and general use on a normal home connection you will not notice Gigabit wired Ethernet, which we would still recommend over wireless for competitive play ๐ช Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended. ๐งน Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly Click or tap for deeper spec info PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, PBO enabled, A-XMP enabled, Secure Boot enabled Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, plus a deeper strip and debloat of Windows and a hand-tuned fan profile This machine is already quiet, so most of the value here is in the Windows work rather than the acoustics PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options Advanced tuning: memory tune, CPU overclock and GPU overclock on top of everything in Premier Worth a thought on this build. The 5600 responds well to a memory tune and the card has a little in hand, though the gains here are smaller in absolute terms than on a faster machine ๐ก๏ธ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base) Click or tap for deeper spec info Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both. The same warranty as every machine we sell, regardless of price Optional extended warranties in the listing options below Why don't all parts list a brand and model? Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time. For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. RTX 5050) and VRAM (e.g. 8GB) that is listed. We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it. If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost. ๐๏ธ Transparency notes The case has a solid front panel and draws its intake through side vents rather than a mesh face (click or tap to read more) A mesh front moves more air, and there is no argument to be had about that. What this chassis does instead is pull air in through large vents down both sides of the front panel, which is quieter, keeps far more dust out and looks cleaner. With a 65W processor and a card in this class there's cooling to spare, and we've verified that in our own stress testing rather than assuming it. If maximum airflow matters more to you than the look, one of our mesh-front builds is the better buy and we'll happily point you at one. AM4 is a mature platform with no future processor generations coming (click or tap to read more) AM4 is at the end of its life as a new-CPU socket, so the Ryzen 7 5700X in the upgrade options is broadly where this machine's processor ceiling sits. What you get in exchange is a thoroughly proven platform with cheap and plentiful memory, and a machine that costs meaningfully less than the AM5 equivalent. For a 1080p build we think that's the right trade. If you want a socket with a future in it, Coquette Two is the one to look at. The storage is a QLC drive, which is the right call at this price and here is why (click or tap to read more) QLC and TLC feel identical for loading games and booting Windows. The difference shows up in very long sustained writes, where a QLC drive slows once its fast cache fills. On a machine at this price, spending the difference on the graphics card is the better outcome for almost everyone. If you regularly move very large files, say so on live chat and we will talk about it. Product images are representative photos of a similar spec in the same style. Your PC will look similar but not identical. Our support team can help clarify anything you're unsure of. The ring RGB fans shown later in the photo stack are not included as standard - if you'd like those rather than plain black, leave a note in the listing options below and we'll use them in your build ๐ ๏ธ Popular upgrade options Processor upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5700X: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you edit video, stream while you play, compile code or run anything that uses more than six cores. Eight cores and sixteen threads instead of six and twelve. Not worth it for gaming alone at 1080p with this card, where the graphics card is the limit and the 5600 is not holding anything back. Storage upgrade to 2TB: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you keep more than a handful of large games installed at once. You can also defer it entirely, because the second M.2 slot is free and adding a drive later is straightforward. Memory upgrade to 32GB: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you keep a lot of browser tabs, Discord and a game running together, or if you do any creative work. Not needed for gaming alone at this level. Two slots are free, so it means adding a pair rather than replacing what is there. 850W 80+ Gold power supply: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it only if you plan to fit a much larger graphics card later, in which case doing it now saves doing the job twice. The 500W unit fitted has roughly double the headroom this build needs, and we will say so rather than sell you something you do not need. Extended warranty: available in the listing options below.
