Vintage moroccan rug - Ourika - 4x5.7feet / 123x174cm

Probably from the area of Ourika, this handcrafted vintage piece captures one of the oldest traditions of Amazigh textile art: dense, horizontal stripes inspired by the horizons of the Moroccan landscape. The organic scheme features rich earthy tones - creamy beige, warm sand, soft brown, and deep charcoal/black stripes. A piece that features a tight, durable structure with a highly textural, rustic feel underfoot. Preserved raw edges ending with authentic, organic light wool fringes on one side, highlighting its ancestral loom heritage. The rug is made of local sheep wool and cotton. Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate.
