Petate de Jade

Size of the bag body: 22x24cm; 8.5x9.5in Length with handle: 36cm; 14in Hand woven palm bag in San Lorenzo Albarradas. Hand dyed with Xiuhquilitl (Indigo) by Samuel and Magalí. Woven fabric by Leonor Lazo González (r.i.p) woven with stripes of cochineal, marigolds, pomegranate and indigo dyed yarns. These short straps were woven by my mom in order to reduce warp waste. They were so small that we did not use them for a long time untila Magalí moved in with us and used the fabric cretively to decorate this cute petate bag. Hand sewn and crocheted with jute threads by Magalí.
