Crafted by one of the best Fender Builder himself , this 2010 Fender Jazz Bass custom shop master built is absolutely divine. The Masterbuilt line, Fender Custom Shop’s top tier series, features special instruments crafted under the personal supervision of a select group of highly skilled “Master Builders” from the Custom Shop, who take full responsibility for every step of the process, from wood selection to final adjustments. This instrument is a Jazz Bass crafted by Master Builder Jason Smith. Having studied under the legendary Master Builder John English and been involved in the creation of numerous artist models, Jason Smith is known as a builder who enjoys the deep trust of many top bassists, including Flea and Steve Harris. Built in 2010, this instrument features a very light ash body, a gorgeous rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays , while incorporating modern features like string through and 5 screw neck plate, resulting in the unique specifications characteristic of a Master-Built instrument. The use of a Fender string through bridge and lightweight tuning pegs achieves excellent body balance and a modern look. Super comfortable neck profile, providing a solid, comfortable grip. It has a perfect midrange presence and a mellow tone, yet it’s by no means a dark sound, instead it offers a well-defined, lively tone. The sustain is incredibly pleasing. The Masterbuilt sound is a cut above the regular line.
