Support the Paris Artist Residency This September, I’m returning to Paris for two weeks with my paints, sketchbooks, camera and — perhaps most importantly — some room to simply look, wander, observe and create. I’m already dreaming about sitting at a little French café with my gouache paints spread out beside me, painting the Parisian streets as people wander by. I’ll be wandering through gardens with my oils and pochade, studying paintings in museums with my sketchbook, photographing beautiful little details, and looking for the light, colors and fleeting moments that will eventually find their way into paintings back in my studio. I’m calling this my Paris Artist Residency — a period of creative research and artistic immersion designed to fill the well, explore new ideas, create artwork on location, film new art lessons on site, and gather inspiration and reference material for the work I’ll bring back to my studio. During my time in Paris, I’ll be: Painting on location throughout the city and surrounding areas Creating gouache paintings and studies Filming plein-air painting and educational content Visiting museums, gardens and historic sites to study art, light, architecture and atmosphere Photographing reference material for future paintings Exploring new ideas for paintings, classes, videos and other creative projects Sharing the experience with my Art Life community I don’t know exactly what I’ll create while I’m there — and that’s part of the point. I want to leave room for discovery! Maybe I’ll find a little street I want to paint three different ways. Maybe I’ll become obsessed with a particular shade of Parisian blue. Maybe I’ll spend an entire morning painting at a café. That’s the magic of being an artist. You never really know where inspiration is going to take you. You Can Be Part of the Journey When you become a Paris Residency Supporter, you’ll receive The Paris Artist Residency Collection — a beautiful set of 12 artist note cards featuring artwork inspired by Kelli’s time in France. And here’s the fun part: I haven’t painted them yet. The cards will be created during and after the trip, using paintings and imagery that emerge from this creative adventure. I want them to come from the experience itself — from the paintings, colors, gardens, cafés, streets and little discoveries that happen along the way. So I don’t know exactly what they’ll look like yet. And I kind of love that. The finished cards will be beautifully packaged and giftable, making them something special to keep for yourself or share with someone who loves art, Paris and beautiful things. A Limited Edition I’m creating no more than 50 sets of The Paris Artist Residency Collection. Once the 50 sets are gone, the collection will be sold out.
