The material is suitable for many laboratory procedures requiring a short working time and processes carried out at moderate temperatures. Aurosil C Lab 85 silicone is recommended for protecting teeth during the flasking of removable dentures. It can also be used for making preliminary matrices for preparing gingival masks in the indirect technique, as well as for matrices used during the fabrication of dentures made from self-curing acrylics. The material is also suitable for other related laboratory applications, such as quick working models for repairs of removable dentures. A gel catalyst is required for proper curing.
