A real carbon fiber printing surface engineered for strong adhesion and high rigidity. Unlike decorative “carbon fiber effect” build sheets, the R3men Carbon Fiber Build Plate uses a real carbon fiber laminate as the printing surface. It is designed for functional 3D printing and has been extensively tested with both everyday and engineering filaments. The carbon fiber surface provides excellent adhesion during printing while allowing parts to release after the plate cools. Real Carbon Fiber Surface This is not a textured PEI or PET sheet made to imitate carbon fiber. Your print is deposited directly onto a real woven carbon fiber laminate, transferring its natural fine weave texture onto the first layer and creating a unique technical finish. Because the texture comes from the actual carbon fiber material, the appearance is more subtle and natural than decorative carbon-fiber-pattern build sheets. Built for Engineering Materials We developed this plate with demanding materials in mind. Successfully tested with: PLA PETG PCTG TPU ABS ASA PET-CF PC-CF PA6-CF PPS-CF Our testing showed good adhesion and release across a wide range of materials, including high-warp engineering filaments. Actual adhesion depends on filament formulation, bed temperature, first-layer settings, and surface condition. Extra-Rigid 1 mm Spring Steel Carbon fiber laminate performs best when it is supported by a rigid base. Instead of the thin spring steel commonly used for flexible build plates, we use 1.0 mm extra-hard steel rated at approximately 580 HV. The increased rigidity helps the plate resist bending when printing large parts and high-shrinkage materials, reducing the tendency for a strongly adhering print to pull the corners of the build plate upward. High-Temperature Construction The complete plate is designed around high-temperature printing rather than only PLA and PETG. The carbon fiber laminate, high-temperature bonding system, and rigid steel substrate make the plate suitable for printers used with demanding engineering materials and elevated bed temperatures. Strong Adhesion. Clean Release. The carbon fiber surface is designed to provide a useful balance between holding power when hot and release when cool.
