Camadas II
Camadas II is built through the pressure and accumulation of hand-modelled clay. Its compact, vessel-like structure is organised by overlapping planes, incised openings, and irregular edges, allowing the construction of the object to remain visible across the surface. Rather than smoothing these transitions, Bárbara Penaforte retains the shifts in relief and volume produced by manipulation. The pale ceramic body brings the work’s layered architecture into focus, making process part of its finished form.
