1953 Fender "Blackguard" Telecaster (6lbs 6oz)
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1953 Fender "Blackguard" Telecaster (serial #3919), a rare vintage Fender in very good, highly playable condition. Finished in classic butterscotch blonde with a black pickguard over an ultra-lightweight ash body (6lbs 6oz), this Blackguard delivers the bright, articulate tone that made early Telecasters legendary. Nearly all of its original components remain intact, including Kluson "no-line" tuners, Stackpole potentiometers, selector switch, and Leo Fender's revolutionary pickups, offering an authentic connection to its October 1953 origins. Its thick U-shaped neck provides a substantial, comfortable feel, making this Telecaster as playable as it is collectible. Cosmetically, the guitar shows honest play-wear throughout, including moderate buckle-rash, adding character and reflecting decades of musical history. Modifications are minimal and expertly executed: the neck pickup has been rewound by Lindy Fralin, the nut has been replaced, and the guitar has been refretted. It has also received a repro switch tip. Otherwise, this guitar remains as it left the Fender factory in 1953. This is a collector-grade 1953 Fender Telecaster Blackguard, combining vintage authenticity, playable condition, and classic Fender tone. A standout for serious collectors and players alike, it comes complete with its original leather gigbag and “ashtray” bridge cover.
