Cyclommatus Mniszechi
Size: Approximately 2.5–6 cm as adults, with males showing considerable variation in size and mandible development. Difficulty (Keeping): Easy to Moderate; generally adaptable when kept at stable temperatures with suitable ventilation and a moist, well-maintained substrate. Breeding Difficulty: Moderate; can breed readily when mature, but successful reproduction requires suitable soft, fermented hardwood substrate and appropriate moisture levels. Larval development takes several months. Temperature: 20–26°C (68–79°F). Humidity: Moderate to high; approximately 60–80%, with moist substrate and good ventilation. Avoid stagnant, overly wet conditions. Note: Cyclommatus mniszechi, commonly known as Mniszech's Long-jawed Stag Beetle, is a striking species from Taiwan, southeastern China and northern Vietnam. Males are highly variable in size and can develop remarkably long, curved mandibles, while larger males display a distinctive crest-like projection on the head. Larvae develop in fermented hardwood substrate, while adults readily accept beetle jelly and other suitable fruit-based foods.
