The surface is specifically curated from old wood molds, capturing the deep grain, knots, cracks and aging of reclaimed timber to create a really unique, one-of-a-kind effect. It is a look usually only possible with expensive aged boards and costly professional installation. Slim 47.2" x 7.9" planks cover walls quickly and are fire rated, making Legno Rustico a great fit for homes, hospitality and commercial fit-outs. These panels are supplied without peel-and-stick adhesive, giving you freedom to use your preferred bonding method for maximum durability. For outdoor applications, we strongly recommend using a construction-grade adhesive such as Sikaflex or Liquid Nails, and sealing the joints for water protection and long-term stability. Adhesive (most important) Use a construction-grade adhesive suitable for the wall surface and environment. For outdoor applications, select a weather-resistant exterior adhesive. Avoid peel-and-stick or tape-only solutions in external or wet areas. Adhesive application methods There are two proven and recommended ways to install Flexistone panels: Construction adhesive method Apply adhesive generously to the back of each panel using multiple dots or a continuous snaking (zig-zag) line. This ensures strong bonding, even load distribution, and long-term stability. Tile adhesive (tiler-style) method Flexistone panels can also be installed using cement-based tile adhesive (thin-set mortar), applied to the wall with a notched trowel, in the same way porcelain or ceramic tiles are installed. This method provides excellent surface coverage and a very secure bond on flat, well-prepared masonry or cement board walls. Always ensure the adhesive selected is appropriate for the panel weight and for interior or exterior use, depending on the application. Placing the panels Panels are lightweight and easy to handle. Press firmly against the wall to ensure full contact with the adhesive, align carefully for consistent spacing, and maintain a clean, professional finish. Joints Legno Rustico planks lay with tight, clean joins and no grouting is required. For outdoor installations, seal the joints with a weather-resistant sealant.
