CAB 412 Dining Chairs by Mario Bellini for Cassina, 1990s – Set of 8
Mario Bellini Cab 412 dining chairs for Cassina from the 1990s, a set of eight in oxblood saddle leather with distinctive black edges. Mario Bellini designed the Cab Chair, model 412, in 1977. A thick saddle-leather cover fits snugly over the entire steel frame. This innovative construction was revolutionary at the time and remains a defining feature of the model. The Cab Chair is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. This set was purchased in 1996 and features the distinctive black edges found on many early and older Cab Chairs. Dimensions per chair: 52 × 49 × 82 cm (W × D × H), with a seat height of 44.5 cm. Weight: 6.2 kg per chair. Marked Cassina. The condition of the eight chairs is excellent. Their previous owner took great care of them, leaving them exceptionally well preserved. Each chair has been carefully inspected and treated with leather conditioner. The leather is supple and has developed an attractive natural patina, with light signs of use consistent with age. The frames are strong and structurally stable. The set has been fully checked and is ready for daily use. The table shown is not included in the price.
