Twin – TCW72 72" x 96" (182.9 x 243.8 cm) A little bit of cotton, a little bit of wool and a whole lot of lovely quilting results! Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool Batting combines 80% fine cotton with 20% superwashed wool, giving you the best of both fibres in one beautiful batting. The cotton provides a lovely natural foundation, while the wool adds extra loft, softness and drape, helping your quilting stitches stand out with gorgeous definition. It has an approximate loft of 1/8" or more (around 3 mm+) and is designed to resist bunching and fibre migration. It's suitable for hand quilting, domestic machine quilting and longarm quilting, making it a wonderfully versatile choice for everything from everyday quilts to special bed quilts. One of the lovely benefits of the wool content is that it doesn't have the same memory for creases, helping quilts resist those settled-in fold lines. The natural, unbleached cotton and wool can slightly darken white or very light fabrics, so test a small sample first if you're using pale fabrics. Quilting distance: Keep your stitching no more than 4" (10.2 cm) apart. Closer quilting is absolutely fine. Washing: Gentle machine washing in cool water on a delicate cycle is recommended. Avoid heavy agitation or spinning, then air dry or tumble dry on low or no heat. Pre-washing: Hobbs does not recommend pre-washing this batting. Make a sample: Hobbs suggests testing a small sample before starting your quilt to see how the batting handles with your preferred hand or machine quilting method and how it behaves after washing.
