2025 Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Franc Merlot

Woodlands has produced this blend of Cabernet Franc Merlot blend since 2008. Although labelled Wilyabrup Valley, this wine is produced entirely from Woodlands estate grown fruit. The 2025 vintage is a blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot, matured in mature french barriques and hogsheads for 14 months. The colour is bright crimson, with a vibrant ruby red hue. The nose is immediately enticing, opening with an abundance of ripe red berries, violets, and subtle spice. Fresh thyme weaves through the bouquet, complemented by subtle oak notes. The palate is lush and generous, filled with raspberry, crunchy mulberries, and plums. Lively and energetic acidity brings freshness, while firm tannins provide structure. Fruit-driven and approachable in its youth, this wine offers excellent drinkability while retaining the backbone and seriousness to reward careful cellaring. Enjoy now, or cellar through to 2034.
