Vintage Black Haori - Pine Trees and Flowers -
The Pine (Matsu) motif is a traditional Japanese auspicious pattern symbolising longevity, resilience, and prosperity. Because pine trees remain green throughout the year, even during the cold winter months, they have long been admired as symbols of enduring life, strength, and vitality. In Japanese culture, pine is also associated with good fortune and celebration, making it a cherished motif often seen on kimono and other traditional textiles. Pine trees and flowers are beautifully featured in both the woven patterns and embroidery. There are many stains on the lining and other areas, so please check the photos carefully. I don't think the stains are visible on the outer fabric, but please understand that this vintage piece shows signs of ageing.
