The body-contouring fit keeps the fabric in contact with your skin, which is what allows a base layer to move moisture instead of trapping it. Nuyarn spins merino around a nylon core without the tight twist of conventional yarn, so the fibers stay lofted. That loft holds air for warmth at a low weight and releases moisture faster than conventionally spun merino of the same gsm. At 125 gsm it layers nicely under a cycling jersey, ski gear, or a sweatshirt without adding bulk at the shoulders or waist. Black is the default. It does not shadow through dark or patterned outer layers, and it works as a standalone piece when you shed the jersey or shell.Made in USA.
