Chervil- Anthriscus cerefolium

A famous age old culinary herb that dates back to Roman times. Also used medicinally as a digestive aid and for high blood pressure. The leaves have a slight licorice taste, and are added at the last minute to culinary dishes. French cuisine is famous for using it in herbal combinations. The beautiful leaves are abundant, very frilly and topped with lots of beautiful white umbel type flowers. This is a cool season fast growing plant that does fine in shade. Can be direct sown in early spring or fall , barely covering the seed. If you allow the seeds to mature, it will self sow for continuous growth and harvest, especially in moderate climate. Heat causes it to bolt.
