Asatsuyu Ceremonial Grade Matcha - 20g Tin

An absolutely stunning matcha using Asatsuyu tencha from Kagoshima. Asatsuyu is a cultivar often referred to as "natural gyokuro" for its inherent capacity for lots of umami depth without even needing to be shaded. That certainly comes through in this tea, though, quite frankly, the literal translation of the name - "Morning Dew" - seems to fit even better! Drinking this tea we picked up on notes of Hinoki, Yomogi, and Snap Pea - and certainly something distinctly "dewy" or "steamy" in the scent. The overall effect transported us to an old school Japanese hot springs.
