That trade suits a lab that has outgrown the 445 mm family’s roughly 40,000-cryovial ceiling but is working in a room where overall height, not footprint, is the constraint — a cord blood bank or a growing CGT biobank moving into five-figure storage counts, for instance. Samples still sit above the liquid line in −190°C nitrogen vapor on an internally rotating carousel, and the 25-day vapor-hold figure gives noticeably more refill slack than either the 320 mm or 445 mm families offer.
