I love hiking up above treeline, but eventually you do have to go back down the mountain. In some cases you can see the last stretch of trail leading over the edge, returning you to reality. That's the case here, looking down from the edge of the Alpine Garden to Lion Head on New Hampshire's Presidential Range. It's a long steep way to go after you dip down over Lion Head's summit.
