VINTAGE 1971 OMEGA SEAMASTER AUTOMATIC ORIGINAL EXPLORER DIAL WATCH
VINTAGE 1971 OMEGA SEAMASTER AUTOMATIC ORIGINAL EXPLORER DIAL WATCH. This beautiful gentlemen’s Omega really is a super watch. The model 14704-sc Seamaster was one of Omega’s most technically advanced designs, with the new calibre 501 automatic movement with 360 degree rotor superseding the old bumper version. The all stainless-steel case is in very, very nice condition and with no noticeable wear at all to the brushed/polished finish and nice sharp chamfered edges to the lugs. The movement is in superb condition, as good as we have seen in an Omega of this age and working well, winding and setting as it should.. The case measures 34mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip. Both case and bezel are in beautiful original condition with no noticeable wear, dings or scratches. The screw-down back with centre ’Seamaster’ medallion, has no noticeable wear and just some light scratching from mild use over the years. The silvered pie-pan type dial is in very good condition, with the desirable Rolex explorer type 12-3-6-9 figures and arrow markers. A light patina of age has developed over the years which is quite attractive. Polished chrome baton markers. Both dial and hands retain their original lume. Signed ‘Omega – Automatic’ ’Seamaster’ with ‘Swiss made’ below six. You will notice also the original winding crown, which is still in perfect order. The watch still retains the Omega stainless-steel ‘beads of rice’ bracelet with deploymant clasp, still in good condition and very comfortable to wear. This will fit up to a 19cm wrist, though we can fit extra links at the buyers request. This is one of the prettiest Seamasters that we have acquired in the past few years, a fine and highly collectable Omega.
