Around 550 farmers of the Iria-Ini Farmers Co-operative deliver ripe cherry from small family plots, grown in deep red volcanic soil at 1,750–1,900 m. The cool, high-altitude climate matures the cherries slowly, building the dense, flavour-packed beans Nyeri is known for. NH — "natural heavy" — is Kenya's newer natural grade: the densest, best cherries, separated by floating and sorting, then dried whole on raised beds. Thin bed depths, frequent turning and close control of airflow and shade keep the drying slow, matching the cool mountain climate. The result is a dessert-like natural — creamy and berry-forward — that keeps the clarity Nyeri's washed lots are famous for.
