Framed Madagascan Sunset Moth

A real Madagascan Sunset Moth (Urania rhipheus) in a shadow box frame. Hang it on the wall or stand it on a shelf - the iridescent green, orange, pink and violet wings look like a tiny rainbow and shift as you move.Urania rhipheus lives only on Madagascar. It flies by day, and its colors come from the structure of tiny wing scales that bend the light rather than from pigment. Every moth is carefully prepared and framed by hand in our small workshop in Central Europe.A great gift for a birthday, a housewarming, a biology teacher, or anyone who likes interesting things on their walls.Species: Urania rhipheus (Common name: Madagascan Sunset Moth) Frame: composite wood with foil finish, plexiglass front, available in 5 colors Size: approx. 15 × 20 cm (5.91 × 7.87 in) outer frame dimensions Please note: this is a natural specimen, so it may differ very slightly in shape or shade from the photos Packaging & Shipping: I take extra care in packaging.
