The Traction Plus Ultra system features digressive piston valving, designed to generate increased damping force at lower shaft velocities for improved chassis control. This helps limit excessive body movement during corner entry, braking, and rapid directional changes. As suspension velocity increases, the digressive damping characteristics help the suspension absorb road irregularities while maintaining controlled handling. For the BMW M2 G87, this provides a balance of steering response, mid-corner stability, and rear suspension control during demanding driving conditions. With 32 levels of damping adjustment, drivers can fine-tune suspension response to suit different road surfaces, driving styles, and track conditions.
