Our Rainbow Shawlette : August 2026 KAL

Our Rainbows kits drop June 10 at 9 am PT. Have you ever wondered what your cat sees when they stare out the window, or what your dog makes of a colourful sunset? It turns out the answer is a little bit science, a little bit beautiful — and we turned it into yarn. Our August KAL features three colourways, each inspired by the spectrum of colours that humans, cats, and dogs can each see. And because of course the finished object should be the shape of a rainbow, the pattern is a crescent shawlette designed by Andrea Rangel. The kit includes: One 100g skein of self-striping yarn. The yarn creates a cheerful rainbow gradient where each colourway represents a different kind of vision: human, feline, or canine. A PDF shawlette pattern by Andrea Rangel. The kit comes in your choice of three colourways, all dyed on our Trifecta Fingering base (80% superwash Merino wool, 20% nylon; 370 yd/339 m). The pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter. It is worked from the centre out with an easy-to-memorize stitch pattern and a garter stitch border. Finished dimensions: 104 cm (41 in) wingspan, 35.5 cm (14 in) depth at centre. Need more rainbows?
