The TaylorMade P7MC and P7MB are the tour-level irons in the P-Series — pure forged designs with no hidden technology, no hollow bodies, and no tungsten. They share identical loft, lie, and offset specifications, which makes them the perfect foundation for combo sets. We cover both models on this page because they are designed to be played together. P7MC (Muscle Cavity) Construction The P7MC is forged from 1025 carbon steel with a shallow muscle cavity behind the sweet spot. The cavity is minimal — just enough to redistribute a small amount of mass towards the perimeter without changing the visual character of the iron. At address, the P7MC looks like a blade. The topline is thin, the offset is virtually non-existent, and the sole is narrow. How it plays The P7MC delivers exceptional feel and workability. The shallow cavity provides a marginal increase in stability compared to the P7MB, but the primary benefit is a slightly softer feel at impact — the cavity acts as a subtle dampener. Shot shaping is effortless in both directions. The feedback is direct and honest: you know exactly where you hit the ball and how the club interacted with the turf. This is not a forgiving iron. The sweet spot is small, the margin for error is thin, and mis-hits are punished with noticeable distance and direction loss. The P7MC rewards precision and consistency. P7MB (Muscle Back) Construction The P7MB is a traditional one-piece muscle back blade — the most stripped-down iron in the TaylorMade lineup. Forged from 1025 carbon steel with a milled sole and face. No cavity, no technology, no assistance. The sole is the narrowest in the P-Series, the topline is razor-thin, and the offset is near zero. How it plays The P7MB is the purest iron TaylorMade makes. It provides completely unfiltered feedback — every fractional miss-hit is felt and seen in the ball flight. Workability is maximum: the small head and minimal offset allow precise shot shaping with minimal effort. The feel on centre strikes is exceptional — dense, solid, and rewarding. This is an iron for elite ball strikers only. There is no forgiveness whatsoever. Players who are not consistently hitting the centre of the face will lose significant distance and accuracy. P7MC + P7MB: The Combo Set Because both models share identical specs, the most common configuration is: P7MC (3-7) + P7MB (8-PW) — the slight cavity assistance in the longer irons, pure blade precision through the scoring clubs P7MC full set (3-PW) — for players who want consistent feel with minimal assistance P770 (3-5) + P7MC (6-PW) — hollow-body launch in the longest irons, muscle cavity feel from 6 down The ExactGolf Difference At ExactGolf, we build every P7MC and P7MB set with premium aftermarket shafts precisely matched to your swing.
