Born from small-scale experimentation and a desire to explore beyond the expected, “Cinci” is a blend drawn from individual vineyard parcels. Sangiovese and Merlot forming the core, with a lift of Syrah adding depth and intrigue. It’s a wine that steps slightly outside tradition while remaining grounded in the character of the estate. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red, immediately hinting at its intensity. The nose is bold and expressive, led by ripe red fruits layered with floral notes, suggestive of petals steeped in alcohol, bringing both richness and aromatic lift. On the palate, it’s structured yet polished. The tannins are round and well-developed, giving a smooth, cohesive feel, while the fruit sits at full ripeness, generous without tipping into excess. There’s a warmth here, but it’s controlled, carried by a sense of balance and precision that keeps the wine focused. The finish is long, persistent, and quietly powerful. Grown on clay and limestone soils at around 200 metres and aged in stainless steel for 12 months, “Cinci” is a modern expression of the estate, confident, characterful, and just a little bit different.
