This ring is named after Moros - the Greek spirit of impending doom, the force that drives all things toward their inevitable end. Not a destroyer, but the certainty of it. At the center of this ring sits an authentic ancient maskette carved from dark limestone, part of a group of small masks associated with Mediterranean folk, devotional, and apotropaic traditions of the medieval to early modern periods. The face is direct and unsparing - hollow eyes, carved nostrils, an open mouth - a human face stripped to its essence, made to ward off what words could not. Such masks were carried or worn as personal protective objects across Southern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, their schematic power requiring no explanation. Sourced from a private collection, acquired on the art market in the late 20th century. Set in 925 sterling silver plated with white rhodium and 18K gold, with a natural rough ruby held in the gold setting at the side - a stone of vital force, blood, and survival, placed beside the face of fate. This is a singular edition - handmade by the designer himself with no second copy in existence. For those who look inevitable things in the eye. PLEASE NOTE: This ring is made with an authentic ancient artifact and natural raw gemstones that may exhibit cracks, scratches, and color irregularities - these are not flaws, but marks of authenticity and age. Gemstone colors may appear differently depending on lighting conditions; please refer to the model photo for the most accurate representation.Metal: 925 Silver, Nickel-Free, Hypoallergenic, Safe for Sensitive SkinGemstones: Rough RubyPlating: White Rhodium, 18K GoldWidth 31 mmBand wide 5 mmLength 23 mmWeight 17.86 g
