Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

A double exposure of two Palmetto fan leaves fills the composition, their sharp fronds radiating and crossing to create a bold, graphic energy. Sweeping wave-like brushstrokes flow horizontally across the entire piece, weaving between the layers with a beautiful rhythmic movement. Delicate orchid blooms are softly visible in the background, adding a romantic, feminine contrast to the bold graphic forms of the leaves. The tones are a deep, rich blend of midnight navy and vivid cobalt blue throughout, giving this piece a bold and dramatic presence. Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolor paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
