A cold-hardy, herbaceous perennial fern native to Central, South, and West Texas.It forms a dense, arching patch with delicate, light green fronds, typically reaching 2-3' in height, occasionally taller. Spreads moderately by rhizomes to form colonies over time. Thrives best in moist soils, especially alkaline or limestone-rich ones. Deer resistant and one of the few ferns tolerant of full sun.
