Portrait Painting

Join Carl Randall for an exciting course which offers a variety of approaches to portrait painting and a balanced experience of the genre. The first three days focus on traditional Old Masters techniques: creating a cartoon preparatory drawing, then a grisaille underpainting, and finally adding colour using dry brushing and glazing. The final two days explore contemporary approaches to portraiture, using thicker paint and looser brush marks. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience. Tutor: Carl Randall (#SC21)
