HAIBARA Postcards - Kawase Hasui (Set of 6)
A postcard set featuring six scenic Japanese landscapes by Kawase Hasui, one of the leading artists of the shin-hanga (“new prints”) movement active during the Taisho and Showa periods in Japan (1883–1957). Through the close relationship between Naoshiro Haibara -the fourth generation head of HAIBARA - and Kawase Hasui, HAIBARA produced the celebrated “Famous Place Uchiwa Prints” series in 1935, featuring twelve scenic Japanese landscapes printed on traditional fans. These works became highly popular, and the beautiful landscape prints were later adapted into decorative woodblock prints under the series “Shinko Nishiki-e: Famous Scenic Places of Japan.” Enjoy the atmospheric beauty of Japan’s renowned landscapes, capturing the changing seasons and the poetic moods of morning and evening through Hasui’s evocative artwork.
