Vintage "Sightmaster" Florescent Desk Lamp

c. 1940s; Art Specialty Co. - Chicago, IL Enameled steel fluorescent desk lamp from the Sightmaster line, designed to provide broad, glare-reduced illumination for drafting tables, offices, workshops, and reading desks. The lamp features a weighted stepped base, tubular steel stem, rectangular hooded shade housing a fluorescent tube, and original toggle switch mounted to the base. Its streamlined profile reflects the practical industrial styling of the late Art Deco and early postwar period. Shows moderate wear consistent with age and use including scattered scratches, minor paint loss, oxidation to the stem, and light surface wear throughout. Lamp has been tested in shop and functions as intended.
