Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Diamond & Ruby Ring, 1886.
Sixteen old mine cut diamonds — the predecessor to the modern brilliant cut — are set across the top of the ring in a pretty zig-zag pattern, totalling an estimated 0.80ct. Their soft, gentle sparkle is quintessentially Victorian. Between them sit seven cushion-shaped rubies, claw set into the underbezel, adding a quiet richness of colour with an estimated total weight of 0.50ct. A well-preserved piece of jewellery history that is every bit as wearable today as when it was made. SKU Z43
