Mid Century Teak and Blackwood Bookcase Bookshelf by K.Westra ACT

A beautifully crafted Mid-Century Modern piece by K. Westra, produced circa 1960s in teak and blackwood. Originally from Holland, Westra migrated to Australia in 1951 after establishing a successful cabinetmaking business in Europe. In Australia, his workshop became highly regarded for its exceptional craftsmanship and worked closely with the Australian National University and various government departments, producing furniture designs by notable Australian designers including Fred Ward and Derek Wrigley. This piece presents in restored condition, with minor imperfections remaining; small dent to the internal rear corner, hard to spot. Top face has been refinished and colour corrected with minor colour variation remaining. Elevated on tapered timber legs, structurally sound. Need me taller or shorter? Ask about custom legs.
