Vintage Italian 18K Gold Bright Cut Work Woven Snake Chain

This vintage 18k gold chain necklace has the fluidity of a snake chain, but consists of woven links of bright-cut square stock. The very tiny square stock within the weave of the necklace gives the chain its sparkle. The chain has a nice width and presence on the neck, and reads as a solid rope chain but with the delicacy of a bright-cut woven chain. Circa the 1970’s or 1980’s. The chain measures 19.5” and is 1.4 mm wide. It weighs 6 grams. Marked as 18k gold, Italian, AR for Arezzo, and with the maker’s mark 31 for Donati & Spina. The perfect chain to bring sparkle and texture to a necklace stack. It also looks great alone or with a pendant.
