It is the movement-control layer of the ResinTech line: applied to the prepared substrate, it helps protect against normal cracking and water intrusion. It is not the final wear coat — it must be protected by an approved ResinTech wearing course. Confirm build thickness, primer requirements, detailing, cure and compatible protection layers against the current ResinTech TDS, SDS and project specification before use. Field Details Brand ResinTech Product Code FLEXCOAT-PU (ResinTech code: FPU) Product Type Single-component elastomeric polyurethane waterproofing & crack-bridging membrane Packaging 20 kg pail (kit volume to be confirmed) Mixing Ready to use — stir until uniform; no A + B mixing required System Role Flexible base / movement & waterproofing layer — protected on top by an approved ResinTech wearing course Where FLEXCOAT-PU sits in the system: FLEXCOAT-PU is the flexible foundation / movement layer — not the wear surface. Apply it to the prepared substrate, then build and protect on top with the approved ResinTech wearing course: CBE / TUE epoxy build coats, then an HPP fast-cure UV-stable finish or CRU topcoat (or broadcast, tile, screed or protection board). Never leave the membrane exposed to UV, traffic or chemicals. Confirm the exact layer sequence and primer requirements against the current ResinTech system specification. Best-Use Applications Confirm all applications against the current ResinTech TDS before specifying. Balcony, podium, plaza and rooftop deck waterproofing under approved protection systems Crack-bridging base membrane below ResinTech traffic coatings where movement accommodation is required Parking deck waterproofing below approved aggregate, reinforced or traffic-bearing wearing courses Wet-area waterproofing under compatible tile, screed or protection layers Detail membrane around drains, corners, wall/floor transitions, pipe penetrations and static cracks Strata, parkade, balcony and podium restoration where water control and movement risk matter Protected below-grade, foundation, retaining wall and masonry waterproofing after proper preparation Product Data Source: ResinTech FPU Technical Data Sheet (TDS-FPU-1.0). Typical values at 23 °C and 50% RH unless noted. Confirm against the current TDS before specifying or ordering. Kit volume is still to be confirmed — verify actual yield by mock-up. Confirm against the current TDS. Application Film Build ≈ Coverage / 20 kg Kit Traffic Crack-Bridge Base 20–25 mils ≈ 300–240 ft² Enhanced Movement Base 40–50 mils ≈ 150–120 ft² (balconies, podiums, rooftop decks, over occupied spaces) Protected Waterproofing Membrane 1.0–1.5 mm (≈40–60 mils) ≈ 155–105 ft²; apply in 2–3 coats Maximum Coat Thickness 0.7 mm (≈28 mils) wet per coat Thicker coats increase bubbling, skinning or slow-cure risk Application Conditions Confirm all conditions against the current ResinTech TDS and project specification before use. Condition Requirement Substrate Temperature 5–35 °C during application and cure Ambient Conditions Dry, stable; protect from rain, condensation and water exposure before cure Dew Point Substrate at least 3 °C above dew point Substrate Condition Structurally sound, stable, clean, smooth and dry Concrete Strength 3,600 psi compressive and 220 psi tensile pull-off recommended Recoat Interval Typically 8–12 hours between coats, depending on film build, temperature, humidity and ventilation Subsequent Protection Allow membrane to dry before applying topcoat, broadcast, tile, screed or protection layer Application Notes Always confirm application requirements against the current TDS, SDS and project specification before use. Surface Preparation Substrate must be sound, stable, clean, smooth and dry before application. Remove dust, laitance, grease, oils, curing compounds, loose coatings, standing water and bond breakers. Grind high spots and repair holes, honeycombs, cracks, sharp transitions and surface defects before coating. Prime porous, marginal, moisture-risk or project-specified substrates with a ResinTech-approved primer. Existing coatings require compatibility and adhesion testing before overcoating. Do not apply over damp, frozen, contaminated, incompatible or unprepared substrates. Confirm all requirements against the current TDS. Mixing Stir thoroughly with a low-speed mixer until uniform. Avoid entraining air. Do not thin unless approved in writing. Confirm mixing procedure against the current TDS. Application Method Pre-treat details first — corners, drains, wall/floor junctions, penetrations, static cracks and transitions — with an extra coat or reinforcement fabric. Apply the field coat evenly by roller, brush, rubber scraper/squeegee or approved spray in 2–3 coats, each coat perpendicular to the previous where practical to reduce pinholes. Check wet film thickness, pinholes, voids, thin spots and contamination before the next coat or protection layer. Where subsequent tile, plaster, mortar or screed bonding is required, broadcast clean dry fine sand into the final uncured coat. Confirm method against the current TDS. Limitations Not intended as a final exposed wear surface by itself — must be covered by an approved wearing course. UV-exposed applications require an approved UV-stable topcoat or protection system. Pedestrian or vehicular traffic requires an approved wearing course, aggregate system or protection layer. Do not bridge expansion joints or active movement joints with field membrane alone — movement joints require a project-specific detail and must remain functional. Do not exceed 0.7 mm (≈28 mils) wet film per coat unless approved by ResinTech. Do not use for potable water, tank, pool, submerged or aggressive chemical service unless the full system is specifically approved. Safety: Isocyanate-based uncured material. Read the SDS before use; wear gloves, eye protection and protective clothing and provide ventilation. The cured membrane must be protected from traffic, abrasion, UV, backfill, sharp damage and contamination by approved system layers. Disposal per local regulations.
