Domaine Nicolas Delfaud, Macon-Verze Blanc 2024

Macon typically produces ripe, full-fruited styles of Chardonnay, often unoaked - though the best can see well-judged, subtle oak treatment. This is one such Chardonnay. Super classic, generously apple-y and citrus-y, with excellent precision and tension, and a certain savoury, mineral je ne sais quoi. Did I hear someone say "summer lunch with a croque monsieur or simple jambon beurre baguette and fresh leaf salad....ohhh and throw in some quiche lorraine, why don't you....!"
