Brazilian Ipanema Estate
Brazilian Ipanema is grown at Fazenda Conquista in Alfenas, Minas Gerais, the home of Ipanema Coffees. This well-established Brazilian producer has built its reputation around quality and a more thoughtful approach to coffee growing. Carefully managed irrigation and environmental practices help protect the farm’s natural resources, while education and economic projects support people in the surrounding communities. The coffee is pulped naturally. Once the cherries are picked, the outer skin and pulp are removed, but a sticky layer of fruit called mucilage is left around the beans as they dry. This brings extra sweetness and body to the coffee, as well as a thick crema when brewed as espresso. It also works particularly well in a cafetière. Smooth and balanced in the cup, Brazilian Ipanema has a gentle brightness with rounded hazelnut and chocolate, followed by a sweet finish that lingers pleasantly.
