Use it when the camera sits close to the mount: hood-to-windshield POV, door panel at mirror height, interior glass. Keep the arm folded short and the camera near the base. The closer the camera is to the suction cup, the less leverage works against the seal. The Single Kit is not a long-reach exterior rig on its own. Once you extend the arm out horizontally, or mount low on a bumper, the setup needs a second support point. Dual Kit: two points, full reach, less shake Two suction cups, two arms, one clamp bridging them. This is the kit for long horizontal reach and for surfaces that move. Why two mounts. A single arm extended 12" horizontally is a lever. Road vibration works on that lever every second you drive, and vibration is what breaks a suction seal, not weight. Add a second mount and the two arms meet at the camera to form a triangle. A triangle cannot flex without one side changing length, so the rig stops swinging and the load is shared across both seals. Triangle over L-shape, always. Bumpers. Plastic bumpers are soft and they flex over every bump. A suction cup alone on a bumper will vibrate loose after a few minutes of driving. Put the second suction cup on a rigid painted-metal panel, fender or quarter panel, and run the second arm to the camera. The metal panel becomes the anchor, the bumper mount becomes the positioner. The QuickLock clamp is the bridge. It clamps onto the second 12" arm and gives you a NATO rail at the camera. Mount the camera on the rail so both arms carry it, or clamp directly to the camera cage. Either way the second arm is doing structural work instead of just holding on. A secondary safety tether is required for all moving-vehicle, exterior, vertical and overhead use. Before every drive: clean the surface, confirm full vacuum with no indicator band visible, pull test both mounts, hand-tighten all knobs only. Re-check and re-pump during use.
