Aphonopelma steindachneri 1/4”

size 1/4” This is the “Brazilian black” of Aphonopelma’s. Know for it’s deep black coloration especially after a molt, this spider is comparable to the color and gentle nature of G. quirogai. Like all of the USA Aphonopelma, this is a slow growing but very long lived species. From northern Baja California and Southern California coasts. Reaching about a 5 inch leg span as adults. These slings are captive bred which are difficult to find. Described in 1875 as Eurypelma steindachneri by Austrian arachnologist Anton Ausserer.
