Pair of Edwardian Mahogany Folding Coaching Tables, c.1900

A rare matching pair of Edwardian folding coaching tables in solid mahogany, c.1900. Each has a rectangular top with canted corners and moulded edges, mounted on a scissor-action X-frame base with slender swept legs joined by a turned stretcher. Originally designed to fold flat for transport on horse-drawn carriages, they are stable when open and make versatile occasional tables.
