Domaine Saint Andrieu Provence Rosé 2025

Finding good, undiscovered Provence these days is like finding a needle in a haystack. So I asked the local trade body, Vins de Provence, for tip-offs on great wineries not represented in Ireland. 70 wines turned up at my door for tasting a few weeks later. And as soon as I tasted this wine, I knew I’d found The One. The colour, the crispness, the intensity of flavour… I could just imagine this being crushed in gardens all over Ireland this summer. This is the Domaine’s top rosé - a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault. Domaine Saint Andrieu is located in a very remote and high part of Provence - and the vineyards here, nestled amongst olive trees and rolling hills, are farmed sustainably and responsibly to produce the best quality fruit. They take their biodiversity seriously… they were recently certified ‘Bee Friendly’, reflecting the incredible wildlife in all of their vineyards. Lots of people dismiss Provence as not real wine - winemaker Gregory is a proud local who wants to make real wine. When you taste this, you’ll see he’s absolutely nailed that.
