Melany is the darkest and most refined of the rubber trees — compact, dense, its leaves a deep glossy green that reads almost black in low evening light — and on this specimen that polish rides a sculptural line no straight-stemmed tree can offer.Curves like this aren't made, they're grown — the slow result of a tree reaching for light over years. It turns the plant into a drawing: place it where the stem is seen in profile against a plain wall and it becomes the line the whole room hangs on.Best space & place. Bright, indirect light. Forgiving of most rooms; keep it clear of radiators and cold draughts.Watering. Let the top few centimetres dry out between waterings; less in winter.
