Lavandin Essential Oil Lavandula × intermedia GROWN, HARVESTED & STEAM DISTILLED IN SMALL BATCHES ON OUR FAMILY FARM Bold, fresh and wonderfully aromatic, Lavandula × intermedia - commonly known as lavandin - brings a distinctly herbaceous character to the still. We grow several lavandin cultivars on our farm, harvesting them at their peak and steam distilling them in small batches. More distinctly camphorous than Lavandula angustifolia, lavandin has a fresh, expansive aroma with earthy and herbaceous undertones. Its robust character makes it particularly well suited to diffusers, bath and body preparations, household use and botanical blending. How to Use Lavandin Essential Oil Fresh, herbaceous and distinctly aromatic, lavandin is especially well suited to bath blends, foot care, diffusers and household use. A simple dilution to remember: Add 5 drops of lavandin essential oil to 15 mL (1 tablespoon) of carrier oil. Use this easy ratio when preparing lavandin for massage, foot care or other topical applications. Bath Drops Lavandin pairs beautifully with eucalyptus, tea tree, citrus and mint essential oils. For a simple bath blend, try combining 15 drops lavandin with 5 drops eucalyptus and storing the blend in a small glass bottle. To use: Blend 5-10 drops of your Bath Drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil, then add to warm bath water along with 1 cup of Epsom salts. Foot Soak & Foot Care For a refreshing soak for tired, hard-working feet, blend a few drops of lavandin essential oil into a tablespoon of carrier oil or unscented bath base, then stir into a basin of warm water with Epsom salts. For a simple foot oil, use our 5 drops essential oil to 15 mL carrier oil dilution and massage into the feet, nails and cuticles. Countertop Spray Lavandin's fresh, herbaceous aroma makes it a lovely addition to a simple household spray for kitchen and bathroom surfaces. Recipe: 175 mL distilled water 25 mL white vinegar 10–15 drops lavandin essential oil 20–25 drops tea tree or citrus essential oil Pour into a spray bottle and shake well before each use. Adjust the essential oil blend to suit the aroma you prefer. For greasy surfaces, add a small amount of dish soap directly to the surface, spray with the cleaner and wipe thoroughly. This blend can also be used to freshen frequently touched surfaces such as faucets, door handles and light switches. Spray onto a cloth first, then wipe the surface. A little goes a long way: 1 mL is approximately 25 drops. Essential oils are highly concentrated. Always dilute appropriately before applying to the skin, and avoid contact with the eyes and sensitive areas.
