Kenya Washed Rianjagi Our newest Kenya release comes from Rianjagi Coffee Factory, blazing on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya in Embu County. This region has quietly produced extraordinary coffees for decades, often in the shadow of its more famous neighbors, Kirinyaga and Nyeri. That’s never made much sense to me. Once you taste a coffee like this, geography becomes less important than what’s in the cup. One detail stood out immediately when we learned more about Rianjagi: the majority of the cooperative are women. That isn’t just a statistic. It’s the lifeline of this coffee. This is why we continue to chase coffees with a strong sense of place. Not because they’re trendy. Not because they’re rare. Because behind every remarkable coffee is a community that has devoted generations to learning how to express a landscape through coffee. Rianjagi is one of those places.
